Nimita has been serving Santa Barbara as an educator and chef since 1996. She brings her passion, artistic eye and love of cuisine to every dish she creates and every event she caters for. You will find her to be both creative and organized, with great attention to detail.

My philosophy on food is simple - healthy food should be beautiful and delicious. As a chef, I believe that it is my responsibility to create meals that are not only healthy, but visually appealing and packed with flavor. I love working with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create dishes that are both unique and delicious. Whether I'm catering a wedding or cooking for a family dinner, I strive to create meals that will delight and satisfy everyone at the table. Healthy food can be both gourmet and down-to-earth, and I believe that it should be enjoyed by everyone.

It is our deepest commitment to revive the benefits of Ayurvedic wisdom by integrating this into our cooking. Though we are not always strictly Ayurvedic (by avoiding night shades, onion, garlic and chilies), we incorporate the notion of slow cooking by respecting our medicinal and flavorful spices through their careful combination.

Along with this, we keep our sources as local as possible working with organic farmers. We select vegetables that are seasonal and honor the intelligence of mother nature in its harvest when creating new recipes to welcome the earth’s offerings. We also pay special attention to the oils we select and use these sparingly. Our preferences are grapeseed oil, avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and ghee. Our dishes are mindfully prepared with the spirit of honoring the receiver of each creation. The end result; Clean, elegant food that aims to please and satiate your palette.
